"Scare Easy" is a song written and sung by Tom Petty, featured on the debut album by rock band Mudcrutch, featuring Petty and Mike Campbell. The song was used in a 2008 commercial for My Name Is Earl. [1] The song peaked at #4 on the Billboard chart. [2]
In 1976, Campbell rejoined Petty to begin Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers with former Mudcrutch member Benmont Tench (keyboards) along with Ron Blair (bass guitar) and Stan Lynch (drums). Like the other Heartbreakers, Campbell avoids the virtuoso approach to playing, preferring to have his work serve the needs of each song.
“Scare Easy” and “Orphan of the Storm” are strong songs, but Mudcrutch feels more like a memento of the fact that Petty is a good friend than a cohesive album. 14. 2 with Mudcrutch (2016)
