Mills Watson (born William Oscar Watson on July 10, 1940) [1] is an American actor who is probably best known for his comedic portrayal of the law enforcement character Deputy Perkins, first on B. J. and the Bear and later as a series star on The Misadventures of Sheriff Lobo.
The corrupt (but now somewhat reformed) sheriff is assisted in his schemes by Deputy Perkins (Mills Watson), whose buffoonery often upsets and exacerbates the situation. An honest but naive new deputy, Birdwell "Birdie" Hawkins ( Brian Kerwin ), who is unaware of Lobo's schemes, has joined the force and has become one of Lobo's deputies.
To complicate things further the client (Corinne Camacho) is an old flame of Rockford, her alibi does not check out, and she wants to rekindle their relationship. With Mills Watson as a skeptical detective, Warren J. Kemmerling, Stephen McNally, William Jordan, Wallace Rooney, Roberta Collins and Hank Rolike.

In a small Southern town, a black man, Jim Price is elected sheriff over John Little, the white incumbent.
