Richmond, also known as Richmond (London), is an interchange station in Richmond, Greater London on the Waterloo to Reading and North London lines. It is a western terminus of both the District line of the London Underground and the Mildmay line of the London Overground.
Between Richmond and Gunnersbury, London Underground's District line shares tracks with the Mildmay line; the entire route is owned and maintained by Network Rail. TfL took over the line in 2007 and introduced new stock as well as putting the line on the Tube map.
Prior to the name being adopted in November 2024, [1] the service was labelled in Transport for London timetables as the Richmond and Clapham Junction to Stratford route. [2] The name was chosen to honour the Mildmay Mission Hospital, which treated victims of the HIV/AIDS crisis in the 1980s, and the line is blue on the Tube map. [3]

The District line is a London Underground line running from Upminster in the east and Edgware Road in the west to Earl's Court in west London, where it splits into multiple branches. One branch runs to Wimbledon in south-west London and a short branch, with a limited service, only runs for one stop to Kensington (Olympia). [2]

Kew Gardens is a Grade II–listed [9] interchange station on the District line of the London Underground and the Mildmay line of the London Overground.Located in Kew in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, it first opened in 1869 and is now managed by London Underground.
