Woodhouse College is a single site selective state sixth form centre situated between North Finchley and Friern Barnet on the eastern side of the London Borough of Barnet in North London, England. It is one of the most successful sixth form colleges in England and is a member of The Maple Group.
Admission to the school is strictly by academic selection, and boys may apply to join the school for Year 7. Roughly 3,600 applicants compete in a series of examinations to be awarded one of the 192 places offered annually, making places at the grammar school some of the most sought after and oversubscribed in the country. Grade II listed, it houses the school's reception, main offices, a small oratory and student services. The Bourne Block, completed in 1936, is the largest building and houses most of the classrooms, as well as the former Sixth Form common room (now a staff room) and a business and MfL centre.

Barnet and Southgate College is a further education college in North London, England. The current college was established in 2011. It has three main campuses and two other learning centres in the London Borough of Barnet and the London Borough of Enfield, predominantly serving students from these areas. Over 14,000 students are enrolled as of 2018.

The place name Barnet is derived from the Old English bærnet meaning "land cleared by burning". [27] The old Barnet Urban District had been the least populous of the five predecessor districts at the 1961 census; nearly half the new borough's population lived in the old borough of Hendon. [28]
The school was renamed East Barnet County School in 1939, then in 1945, to reflect the curriculum and academic standards, renamed once more and became East Barnet Grammar School. The original premises had been built to accommodate three hundred and fifty students, but by 1947, it was housing five hundred and forty seven.
