Vernon Schillinger is a fictional character played by American actor J. K. Simmons on the HBO series Oz as a major antagonist. Schillinger is one of the most powerful and feared inmates in Oswald Maximum Security Penitentiary ("Oz").
He helps Schillinger murder Vogel and later rapes Hanlon. When he discovers Busmalis' tunnel, he forces them to switch cells and attempts to escape through the tunnel.
