The Downtown Holly Commercial District is a commercial historic district located primarily South Saginaw Street and Battle Alley in Holly, Michigan. The district is roughly bounded by Maple Street, South Broad Street, First Street, and the Grand Trunk Railroad tracks. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986. [1]
Seven Lakes State Park is a public recreation area covering 1,434 acres (580 ha) one mile northwest of Holly in Holly Township, Oakland County, Michigan. There are veterans from every major war interred at Oak Hill, dating back to the Revolutionary War. The Holly Union Depot is a long, single story cross-gable-roof structure made from reddish-orange and yellow-buff brick on a stone foundation. It has broadly overhanging eaves supported by open triangular timber brackets. Gabled projections are on each long side; these once contained separate ticket offices for the two railways.
Covering 7,817 acres (3,163 ha) of rolling woodland and open fields, the park area is bisected by Dixie Highway and Interstate 75, with a majority of park features to the east, and the Holdbridge Lakes Mountain Bike Area to the west, featuring the Gruber's Grinder trail.
The Holly Hotel is a 2-1/2 story rectangular red brick Queen Anne structure with a hip roof, measuring about 50 feet wide by 75 feet long. A three-story, helmet-domed, octagonal corner tower is located between two primary facades.
