National Hero of Indonesia (posthumous, 2002) Goesti Pangeran Harjo Djatikoesoemo (1 July 1917 – 4 July 1992) [ 1 ] was an Indonesian army officer and diplomat who served as the first Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Army (1948–1949) and Ambassador to Singapore (1958–1960).
After his return to Indonesia he supervised the purchase of various ships for the Navy. [5] After a period of infighting in the late 1950s, Martadinata replaced Subiyakto as Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Navy , leaving him in charge of the service branch; the infighting quelled soon after. [ 5 ]

[4] Born the son of I Makkulau Daeng Serang Karaeng Lembangparang, Sultan of Gowa, his father appointed him Lieutenant of the Royal Army of Gowa in 1905 after a rebellion against the Dutch broke out.
