Parts of Jamestown are located in Silvercreek, Ross, and New Jasper Townships. According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 1.21 square miles (3.13 km 2), all of it land. [6] Jamestown is located south of U.S. Route 35 on State Route 72. It is east of Lake Shawnee.
Jamestown had its start when James Bailey opened a store there. [2] Appleton Rich had a blacksmith's in the town as well. Allen Kelly bought the shop from Bailey, opened a tannery, and a post office, of which he was the postmaster. Kelly later sold the store, at which point the town became a ghost town. [3]

State Route 734 (SR 734) is a state highway in Greene and Fayette Counties in central Ohio. The 16.57-mile-long (26.67 km) route runs from SR 72 in downtown Jamestown east to SR 38 near Jeffersonville and Bloomingburg.
Shawnee Hills is located in southeastern Greene County surrounding Lake Shawnee, a reservoir built on Caesar Creek, a west-flowing tributary of the Little Miami River.The community is in the eastern part of New Jasper Township and the western part of Silvercreek Township, and is bordered to the east by the village of Jamestown.
