Avon High School, or AHS, is a public four-year high school located at 320 East Wood Street in Avon, Illinois, a village in Fulton County, Illinois, in the Midwestern United States. AHS is part of Avon Community Unit School District 176, which serves the communities of Avon, St. Augustine , and Greenbush , and also includes Avon Grade School.
As of the 2023–24 school year, the district, comprised of one school, had an enrollment of 119 students and 18.5 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 6.4:1. [1] During the 2016–17 school year, Avon was tied with the 23rd smallest enrollment of any school district in the state, with 158 students. [7]
The Stockton Borough School had an enrollment of 43 students as of the 2011–12 school year. [9] The Stockton School, founded in 1832, [10] closed its doors after the 2017–2018 school year and its students were consolidated among the South Hunterdon Regional School District's two other elementary schools, Lambertville Public School and West Amwell School.
