The Alaska Airlines Center is a 5,000-seat multi-purpose arena in Anchorage, Alaska. It is located on the campus of the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) and adjacent to Providence Alaska Medical Center (PAMC).

Anchorage Air Route Traffic Control Center (PAZA/ZAN) is an Area Control Center operated by the Federal Aviation Administration just outside the main gate of Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson at 700 North Boniface Parkway in Anchorage, Alaska, United States. The Anchorage ARTCC is one of 22 Air Route Traffic Control Centers in the United States.
Alaska's air defense force was further enhanced with the assignment of two E-3 Sentry AWACS aircraft to Elmendorf AFB in 1986. The Alaskan Command was re-established at Elmendorf in 1989 as subunified joint service command under the Pacific Command in recognition of Alaska's military importance in the Pacific region.
McGee teamed up with "Barney" Barnhill in 1931, purchasing a three-seat Stinson SM-8 aircraft for $5000 from Varney Airlines in San Francisco. [ 1 ] [ 3 ] They shipped the plane to Alaska on a steamship, taking it off the ship in Valdez , where they reassembled the airplane on the beach, flew it to Anchorage and formed Barnhill & McGee Airways.
