The Bennett-Shattuck House is a historic house at 653 Martins Pond Road in Groton, Massachusetts. Built c. 1812, it is a well-preserved example of rural Federal period architecture, and is associated with a property that was farmed for two centuries. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2006. [1]

The house was built about 1783, presumably by Jabez Smith, the great-grandson of one of Groton's first proprietors, Reverend Nehemiah Smith. The house stands on a foundation built by Jabez's grandfather c. 1663. It is the only 18th-century farmhouse to survive on Groton's Poquonock Bridge area, which was once its principal agricultural area.
During its planning and construction from 1962 to 1965, Indian Hill House was referred to by architect Smith as "Blackman House 1" to be followed in the 1990s by Blackman House 2 (Manchester-By-The-Sea). Blackman House 3 (Groton) was designed by others. Fifty-three drawings and photographs of the house are kept by the MIT Libraries.

White for a total of $300,000, with federal funding accounting for $150,000, state funding for $100,000, and the remaining $50,000 coming from the Groton Open Space Association, a local organization that completed raising the required funds in early 1970.
