Former ministry building Former ministry building. The Ministry of Housing and Spatial Planning (Dutch: Ministerie van Volkshuisvesting and Ruimtelijke Ordening or VRO) is a Dutch government ministry. It was re-established in 2024 after having been disbanded in 2010. The current minister is Mona Keijzer.
In 2010, security policy, including police and fire services, were transferred to the newly created Ministry of Security and Justice, while the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations regained public housing in return. [3] Responsibilities over housing and spatial planning were spun off in July 2024 into a separate ministry.
Maria Cornelia Gezina "Mona" Keijzer (born 9 October 1968) is a Dutch politician and former civil servant who is the minister of housing and spatial planning in the Schoof cabinet since 2024. [1] A member of the Farmer–Citizen Movement (BoerBurgerBeweging, BBB), she won a seat in the House of Representatives in the 2023 Dutch general election.
