Anyway, I think where people got confused with "camp" to where the meaning became split is they saw famous examples of things referred to as "campy" and didn't understand WHY it was being called campy. They saw the 60s Batman series and thought, "this is really bad," and thought its "badness" was why people were calling it "campy."
