Sachchidananda Hirananda Vatsyayan (7 March 1911 – 4 April 1987), popularly known by his pen name Agyeya (also transliterated Ajneya, meaning 'the unknowable'), was an Indian writer, poet, novelist, literary critic, journalist, translator and revolutionary in Hindi language.
Srinivasa Iyengar was born on 17 April 1908. He joined the Department of English in the Andhra University which was started in 1947. [1] On 30 June 1966, he became the vice-chancellor of the Andhra University and continued till 29 November 1968.

He is regarded as the most prominent protagonist of modernity in Maithili.
