On February 19, 1992, the Gaither Vocal Band had just wrapped up a recording session in a Nashville, Tennessee, working on an album called Homecoming, which featured many of the great voices of southern gospel music: The Speers, The Gatlins, Jake Hess, The Cathedrals, Howard & Vestal Goodman, Buck Rambo, Eva Mae Lefevre, James Blackwood, Hovie Lister, Jim Hill, and J.D. Sumner & The Stamps.

The original Vocal Band (called the New Gaither Vocal Band) was formed spontaneously, backstage of a Gaither Trio concert. It consisted of Bill Gaither and Gary McSpadden of the trio, along with two of the trio's backup singers, Steve Green and Lee Young. The quartet sang "Your First Day in Heaven" on stage that night. Marshall Hall (born December 30, 1970) [1] is an American singer, songwriter, and producer. He is best known for his time as a member of the Gaither Vocal Band , his appearances on the Bill Gaither Homecoming tours, and Gaither Homecoming video series.
Janet Paschal (born October 18, 1956) is an inspirational gospel vocalist. She has released numerous albums in that genre and has received multiple fan awards and Grammy and Dove Award nominations.
She also markets a number of singing videos [5] featuring her mellow alto voice in gospel music, particularly southern gospel. She also heads Lynda Randle Ministries in Kansas City, Missouri . Randle on March 21, 2009, became one of the main artists featured by Feed the Children as a fundraising solicitation for contributions.
For two years, while still traveling in music ministry with Barbi, Terry performed as part of the Gaither Vocal Band (1992 to 1994). Together, they opened for some of the Gaither concerts and sang at all the Praise Gatherings, Jubilates, and Family Fests during the 2 years.
