Gerald Alden "Jerry" Wiegert (July 12, 1944 – January 15, 2021) was an American automotive engineer and businessman, notable as the founder of two companies, Vector Motors and Aquajet, and for designing the products marketed by those companies.
It was displayed at international auto shows worldwide, and featured in many automotive publications. The car covered over 100,000 mi (160,934 km) in testing, more than any other concept car. In 1990, the concept went into production as the Vector W8. Only a handful cars were constructed before the company went bankrupt. [3]
In the year 1992, the company changed its name to Vector Informatik GmbH. In the same year, the first CANalyzer license was sold and the company attained sales of one million Euros for the first time. In 1996, the first CANoe and CANape licenses were sold. In 1998, Vector CANtech (USA) was founded, and in the following year Vector Japan.
