The systematic name of this enzyme class is (S)-3-hydroxybutanoyl-CoA:NADP + oxidoreductase. Other names in common use include beta-hydroxybutyryl coenzyme A dehydrogenase , L -(+)-3-hydroxybutyryl-CoA dehydrogenase , BHBD , dehydrogenase, L -3-hydroxybutyryl coenzyme A (nicotinamide adenine , dinucleotide phosphate) , L -(+)-3-hydroxybutyryl ...
Enzyme multiplied immunoassay technique (EMIT) is a common method for qualitative and quantitative determination of therapeutic and recreational drugs and certain proteins in serum and urine. [ 1 ] It is an immunoassay in which a drug or metabolite in the sample competes with a drug/metabolite labelled with an enzyme, to bind to an antibody.
The diagnosis of 3-Methylcrotonyl-CoA carboxylase deficiency is confirmed by decreased enzyme activity in fibroblasts or white blood cells. [8] Although no treatment options have been proven to help manage 3-Methylcrotonyl-CoA carboxylase deficiency [ 9 ] proposed treatments include L-carnitine supplements, [ 10 ] glycine administration, [ 11 ...
Consequently, there is an increasing interest in carrier-free immobilized enzymes, such as cross-linked enzyme crystals (CLECs) and cross-linked enzyme aggregates (CLEAs) that offer the advantages of highly concentrated enzyme activity combined with high stability and low production costs owing to the exclusion of an additional (expensive) carrier.
