Dal (Urdu pronunciation: ; Kashmiri pronunciation:) is a freshwater lake in Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir in Indian-administered Kashmir.It is an urban lake, the second largest lake in Jammu and Kashmir, and the most visited place in Srinagar by tourists and locals.
Some major tourist attractions in Jammu and Kashmir are Srinagar, with its renowned Dal Lake and Mughal Gardens, Gulmarg, Pahalgam, Bhaderwah, Patnitop and Jammu. Every year, thousands of Hindu pilgrims visit holy shrines of Vaishno Devi and Amarnath which has had a significant impact on the state's economy. [1]
Sonamarg had historical significance as a gateway on the ancient Silk Road, connecting Kashmir with Tibet. [5] [6] Today, the hill station is a popular tourist destination amongst fishers and hikers, and following the Kargil War with neighbouring Pakistan in 1999, serves as a strategically important point for the Indian Army.
Naseem Bagh is a Mughal garden built on the northwestern side of the Dal Lake, close to the city of Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir, India. The garden is one of the oldest Mughal gardens in Kashmir, built by Mughal emperor Akbar in 1586. Over 1200 chinar trees were planted in 1686 by Shah Jahan.

It is adjacent to Rajbhawan (Governor's house). The garden is connected by the Boulevard Road which passes along the banks of the Dal lake. There are many hotels and restaurants available for boarding and lodging near the garden. The garden remains open for tourists from March to November. The best time to visit the garden is from April to October.
The garden was opened in 2007 with the aim to boost floriculture and tourism in the Kashmir Valley. [3] It was formerly known as Siraj Bagh. [4] [5] About 1.7 million tulip bulbs, all in multiple colours, were brought Keukenhof tulip gardens of Amsterdam. [6]
