Homeplace Plantation House, also known as Keller Homestead, is a National Historic Landmark on Louisiana Highway 18 in Hahnville, St. Charles Parish, Louisiana. Built 1787–91, it is one of the nation's finest examples of a French colonial raised cottage. It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1970 for its architecture.

John Hill was born in Old Monkland [1] (now part of Coatbridge), Lanarkshire, Scotland, where his family operated coal mines and iron works, on March 12, 1824, to George Hill (January 1785 – 1852 [2]) and Isabella Christie (1787 – c. 1837) [3] (sister to coal mine owner Alexander Christie (1789 – 1859) of Milnd).
