Babymetal (Japanese: ベビーメタル, Hepburn: Bebīmetaru) (stylized in all caps as BABYMETAL) is a Japanese kawaii metal band consisting of Suzuka Nakamoto as "Su-metal", Moa Kikuchi as "Moametal" and Momoko Okazaki as "Momometal". The band is produced by Kobametal from the Amuse talent agency.

The band performed live at Shibuya O-East on October 6, 2012, beginning with the opening track "Babymetal Death". After performing more songs, Nakamoto leaves the stage while Mizuno and Kikuchi debut the song "Onedari Daisakusen", performing as Black Babymetal while wearing black hooded jackets and grasping a towel, shouting chants "Katte!"
The first single released from the album, "Distortion" was released as a digital single on May 8, 2018, just short of the band's fourth world tour, the Babymetal World Tour 2018. Kikuchi "graduated" from Sakura Gakuin in 2015, [8] and now performs with Babymetal exclusively.
