Redang Island (Malay: Pulau Redang, Terengganu Malay: Pula Redang) is an island in Kuala Nerus District, Terengganu, Malaysia.It is one of the largest islands off the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia and one of the most beautiful islands in the world [citation needed].
Chukai is the largest town in southern Terengganu, and its position between the state capitals of Kuantan and Kuala Terengganu as well as proximity to the oil town of Kerteh has turned Chukai into a major commercial hub for the region. The nearby Kemaman Port serves both as a fishing port and supply base for oil platforms off Terengganu's coast.
The inland area of the district is a region of highlands with hilly features. This area is rich with tin ore, oil palm plantation and timber. So, the concentration of population here is related to local economic activities. The foothill area is the second highest populated area. The area is located between the coastal and the inland areas.
Terengganu covers a land area of 12,995 km 2 with 244 km of scenic coastline overlooking the South China Sea. Terengganu boasts a fine tropical climate, with uniform temperatures averaging from 23-33 degrees Celsius and a mean humidity of about 90%. Rainfalls are copious, accounting to Terengganu's lush rainforest and vegetation.

Duyong Island is located in Kuala Terengganu, and was previously divided into Duyong Besar Island and the smaller Duyong Kecil Island dan Ketam Island. Nevertheless, sedimentation and reclamation have united it as well as changed its coastline substantially. The area of the island now is 2.7 square kilometers.

The Marang District is a coastal district in Terengganu, Malaysia. The district seat is the town of Marang. The districts that border Marang are Kuala Terengganu and Kuala Nerus to the north, Hulu Terengganu in the west, while Dungun is in the south. The eastern part of the district is a stretch of coastline facing the South China Sea.
