The Winston-Salem Northern Beltway is a partially completed freeway loop around the city of Winston-Salem in North Carolina.The western section has been designated as North Carolina Highway 452 (NC 452), which will become I-274 when completed, and the eastern section of the beltway will is designated as North Carolina Highway 74 (NC 74), which will become part of I-74 when completed.
NC 274 was established in 1930 as a new primary routing, from NC 27 to U.S. Route 74 (US 74) and NC 20 (now NC 161) in Bessemer City. [2] Around 1938, it was extended southeast to its current southern terminus at the South Carolina state line, where it continues as South Carolina Highway 274 (SC 274). [3]

South Carolina Highway 274 (SC 274) is a 17.537-mile (28.223 km) primary state highway in the U.S. state of South Carolina. It connects the cities of Rock Hill and Gastonia, North Carolina . Though it travels generally in a north–south direction, it is signed west–east.
