  2. Is Rosetta Stone worth it? : r/languagelearning - Reddit

But it can be a good start. Yeah, from my opinion it's a good app,but it's better learning a language both with books and other medias, don't solely rely on Rosetta. Rosetta Stone is like Kmart. It was really cool back in the 80's/90's, before Walmart was a thing.

  3. Is Rosetta Stone worth it in 2024 if it's free? : r ... - Reddit

I know back in the day Rosetta Stone was considered the bees knees of language learning but that was long before we had so many free and premium apps to choose from. I have a small education fund through my employer that can be spent on anything that will help my career including language learning. My concern is that I can be spending that ...

  4. Is Rosetta Stone Worth It? : r/languagelearning - Reddit

    www.reddit.com/r/languagelearning/comments/qz0cdh/is_rosetta_stone_worth_it

I would definitely not get Rosetta Stone. I had it for Chinese, Japanese and Spanish (a very long time ago). And even though they updated a lot of things, it’s not worth the money. Maybe try utilizing other language apps like duo-lingo, lingodeer (if you’re learning an Asian language) or Memrise.

I tried Rosetta Stone recently myself when they allowed you to sign up for 3 months free, and it was *alright* as a *review* tool, but would have been horribly ineffective for trying to actually learn (which can be seen in that user's post) and also, I naturally abandoned it in favor of other resources that are a much better use of my time.

  6. $199 for lifetime Rosetta Stone, worth it? : r/languagelearning -...

    www.reddit.com/.../comments/fy9irj/199_for_lifetime_rosetta_stone_worth_it

It’s for students but there’s no verification so anyone can do it. Try it out and see if you think it’s worth paying for. I don’t think it’s worth anywhere near that much personally. Nope. There is the only price I would consider buying Rosetta Stone, it's $0.00, yes, zero dollars and zero cents.

Stop asking about Rosetta Stone read this! I realize most people that come here have little experience learning a language and well that is why this subreddit is here. I know people are fooled by Rosetta Stone's marketing ploys. I will be the first to admit their marketing is the best in the business, but they offer one of the worst products ever.

  8. Pimsleur vs Babbel vs Rosetta Stone, which should I get and why?

    www.reddit.com/.../vsc9q6/pimsleur_vs_babbel_vs_rosetta_stone_which_should

Assimil has been a pretty good resource too if you’re looking for a little higher level. Rosetta Stone hasn't really changed much (if at all). Pimsleur is great for introductory conversation. Rosetta Stone is good for vocab and grammar. Babble is kind of a middle ground between the two.

  9. Is the lifetime pass for Rosetta stone worth it?

    www.reddit.com/.../comments/romzsk/is_the_lifetime_pass_for_rosetta_stone_worth_it

Rosetta Stone is one of the worst language learning apps tbh, if you want a lifetime subscription to something I would recommend at least going with something better, like Babbel. (Obligatory disclaimer: you don’t necessarily need to spend money at all to learn a language, there are definitely ways to do it for free, or at least cheaper than ...

  10. Is Rosetta Stone worth it? : r/LearnJapanese - Reddit

    www.reddit.com/r/LearnJapanese/comments/xdkdb2/is_rosetta_stone_worth_it

While immersion is a great learning method, Rosetta Stone doesn't even provide that much effectively. It's also really easy to fall into context dependency, where you can only recall information while using the program, which doesn't feel good. Personally, I don't think that systems like Rosetta Stone or Duolingo are effective for serious learners.

  11. Does Rosetta Stone work? : r/learnspanish - Reddit

    www.reddit.com/r/learnspanish/comments/6o2l2p/does_rosetta_stone_work

Rosetta Stone is part of my daily routine (often I forget about it for weeks at a time) and it's just another drill, so it "works" in that way. Anyone who says you shouldn't do it is just talking out of their ass. There is no one thing that works. Constant drill and exposure is what works.
