Eddy J. Changkye (2 February 1924 [1] – 31 October 1994) was a Mauritian diplomat, politician, Member of the National Assembly of Mauritius, municipal councillor, mayor, jurist, writer and poet.

Navin Ramgoolam was born on 14 July 1947 to Seewoosagur Ramgoolam (SSR) and Sushil Ramjoorawon at their Desforges Street residence in Port Louis.SSR was the 6th Governor General of Mauritius, as well as the first Chief Minister and Prime Minister of Mauritius.
