Over the next 30 days, we will be rolling out a new solver for the ActiveState Platform: SPOC, Solver for Packages & Open source Conflicts.
Hi everyone. I’m not even sure how to word this inquiry properly, so please bear with me. I need a copy routine that will copy key/value pairs to/from: hash to object object to object object to hash hash to hash However, I just want the key values (names) and the associated values to copy. I do NOT want to make the destination point to the source in any way. They need to be entire separate ...
I copy installation code and paste it in shell cmd prompt. But got stuck when promt asking for Chose Destination as below. I kept hitting Enter to accept suggested installation path but it seem doesn’t respond to my in…
If you used the “state activate” command, or the one-liner which has “state activate” embedded in the powershell command, did you tell the state tool that you wanted to use C:\\Program Files as the root folder for your project, as this user did here?: When “state activate” asks for a folder to place your project into, it is not asking you where you want Perl to go. You don’t get ...
Did some research on this, and did find a work-around. Brief synopsis of work. I use REDCap for a research effort where I need to pull as well as update data. REDCap provides an API for PERL, Python, R, and SAS. They have an API playground, where you can generate the code, and then copy/paste for your own needs.
Your first problem will be that you’ve started out with a copy of a project that lives in the ActiveState-Projects organization. That’s a demonstration organization, and the projects inside it are read-only for you. You can’t add File::Find::Rule if you don’t have write access. You can modify projects if they are in your personal workspace.

This is a noob question, while I’ve been familiar with standard Windows distributions, the CLI interface behaves completely weird for me. I have defined two public projects on the site for Perl and Python, then used the “state activate …” commands to instal them locally, both interpreters work in the wrapping shell, but as soon as I leave it, they’re invisible. I have no idea how to ...
The “state activate” command in the cut and paste installation command will give a Python in a virtual env. No, Komodo won’t know about it, and neither will Windows. Virtual environments are intended to be insulated and self contained. Komodo would have to be inside the virtual environment too, and Windows will never know about it.
My IT department recently provided me with a new Windows 10 PC to replace my Windows 7 where I was using ActiveState Perl 5.26 and PPM to manage packages. The new installed version 5.28. I am trying to use the state tool to install several packages that I need (Win32-OLE for example) and I receive the following message: Failed to add package.
