Lake Naomi is a 277-acre (1.12 km 2) lake with private beaches and marinas located in Pocono Pines, Pennsylvania in the Pocono Mountains of Northeastern Pennsylvania. [1] The community of Lake Naomi Club is a resort community that includes 1,400 families who own property surrounding Lake Naomi.
There is another community center that lies directly across from Timber Trails (a branch off Lake Naomi) that was completed and opened Memorial Day weekend of 2007 for all community members to enjoy. Eventually, Naomi Pines was renamed Pocono Pines. Route 940 is the main thoroughfare through the village of Pocono Pines.
From 1896 through the 1940s, one large industry in the township was ice harvesting. Ice was harvest from Lake Naomi, Pocono Lake, Stillwater Lake, Anglewood Lake, and Brady's Lake. The ice was stored in icehouses and transported by the Wilkes-Barre and Eastern Railroad to major cities. [9] Another large industry was logging and lumbering.
Pennsylvania Route 423 (PA 423) is a state route in Monroe and Wayne counties in Pennsylvania. It runs for 14.32 miles (23.05 km), crossing through the Pocono Mountains from PA 940 in Pocono Pines to PA 191 in South Sterling. The route runs southwest-northeast through forested areas of the Pocono Mountains as a two-lane undivided road.
Stillwater Lake is a reservoir that covers approximately 315 acres (1.27 km 2).The lake is located in Pocono Summit, Pennsylvania, at an elevation of 1,811 feet (552 m).). Fed by Dotter's Run, Hawkeye Run, Pocono Summit Creek, and several underground springs, the lake flows out to Lake Naomi via Tunkhannock C
