Jacob Buehler Snider, Jr. was born on June 17, 1886, in Grenada, Mississippi. [1] [2] [3] He fought in World War I. [3] Snider represented Tate County in the Mississippi House of Representatives from 1928 to 1932. [4] [2] From 1936 to 1940, Snider served as the Lieutenant Governor of Mississippi. [3]
The U.S. Navy veteran died Dec. 1 in hospice care at age 97, according to his obituary, and Lebanon, New Hampshire resident Kevin Dougherty, one of more than 200 attendees at the funeral.
Jabez Bullock Blanding (August 5, 1841 – May 1, 1866), called Lt. J. B. Blanding in most reports about his death, was a disabled combat veteran of the American Civil War and an agent of the Freedmen's Bureau in the United States who was assassinated by white Mississippians in Grenada, Yalobusha County in April 1866.
