The 1963 South American Championship was held in Bolivia between 10 and 31 March 1963. It was won by Bolivia with Paraguay second. This is, so far, Bolivia's only Copa America title.
Bolivia played their first match of the tournament against Ecuador. After they had given away an early 2–0 leading to a 2–4 deficit after 50 minutes, the match ended in a 4–4 draw. Subsequently, the Bolivian hosts won their matches against Colombia (2–1), Peru (3–2), Paraguay (2–0) and Argentina (3–2).
Pablo Daniel Escobar Olivetti (Spanish pronunciation: [ˈpaβlo eskoˈβaɾ], born 23 February 1979) is a football coach and former player who played as an attacking midfielder or second striker. He is the current head coach of the Bolivia national under-20 team. Born in Paraguay, Escobar represented Bolivia at international level.
