Chelsea Football Club Women, formerly known as Chelsea Ladies Football Club, are an English women's football club based in Kingston upon Thames, London.Founded in 1992, they compete in the Women's Super League, the top flight of women's football in England, and play their home games at the Kingsmeadow with some select games at Stamford Bridge.
The ground underwent various structural improvements and expansion during this period. The ground's lease is currently owned by Chelsea, having purchased it from AFC Wimbledon in 2015, in order to use it for their women's and youth sides. The stadium served as the home ground for Chelsea Ladies in the inaugural 2011 season of the FA Women's Super League, and hosted the league's first-ever match on 13 April 2011 between Chelsea and Arsenal Ladies.
