"Overkill" is a song by the Australian new wave band Men at Work. It was released in March 1983 as the second single from their second album Cargo.Written by lead singer Colin Hay, the song peaked at No. 3 on the American Billboard Hot 100; No. 5 on the Australian Kent Music Report Singles Chart; and reached the top 10 in Canada, Ireland, and Norway.
The songs were finally played again during the 2009 World Magnetic Tour. The song was covered by Overkill, who took their name from the Overkill album by Motörhead, and appears as the first track on their 1999 album Coverkill. [8] In 2008, German heavy metal band Grave Digger included a cover version of the song on their EP Pray.
The nucleus of Men at Work formed in Melbourne around June 1979 with Colin Hay on lead vocals and guitar, Ron Strykert on bass guitar, and Jerry Speiser on drums. They were soon joined by Greg Ham on flute, sax and keyboards, and then John Rees on bass guitar, with Strykert switching to lead guitar. [7]

[3] He has been the vocalist of Overkill since its inception in 1980, and he and bassist D. D. Verni are the band's only constant members.
