The Starkey house at 2582 S. Shore Drive is a 2-story frame Italianate home built in 1878 by the Milwaukee Iron Company and initially occupied by Joseph A. Starkey, who managed the Bay View Roller Mills. From 1879 to 1905 the George Starkey family lived in the house; George was a carpenter/builder.
