The Copper Mountain Solar Facility is a 802 megawatt (MW AC) solar photovoltaic power plant in Boulder City, Nevada, United States. The plant was developed by Sempra Generation . When the first unit of the facility entered service on December 1, 2010, it was the largest photovoltaic plant in the U.S. at 58 MW.
This is a list of electricity-generating power stations in the U.S. state of Nevada, sorted by type and name.In 2022, Nevada had a total summer capacity of 13,541 MW through all of its power plants, and a net generation of 42,591 GWh. [2]
Apex Solar is a 154-acre (62 ha) 20 MWac (24.9 MWdc) photovoltaic solar power facility located entirely on private land within the Apex Industrial Park in the City of North Las Vegas, Nevada. The plant is connected to the local grid via an existing 69kV transmission line owned by NV Energy .
The power generated also cost NV Energy about $135 per megawatt-hour, compared with less than $30 per MWh available from a new Nevada photovoltaic solar farm. [ 40 ] [ 16 ] But to compare fairly, it must be taken into account that the Tonopah solar project power is dispatchable while photovoltaic power is intermittent .
Nevada Solar One is a concentrated solar power plant, with a nominal capacity of 64 MW and maximum steam turbine power output up to 72 MW net (75 MW gross), spread over an area of 400 acres (160 ha). The projected CO 2 emissions avoided are equivalent to taking approximately 20,000 cars off the road.
Chuck Lenzie Generating Station is a 1,102-megawatt (1,478,000 hp) gas-fired power station located 30 miles north of Las Vegas, Nevada near the junction of Interstate 15 and the Great Basin Highway (Nevada State Route 93). Power is generated by two D-11 steam turbines powered by four 7FA combustion turbines. [1]
Eagle Shadow Mountain Solar Farm is a planned 420 MW p (300 MW AC) photovoltaic power station north of Las Vegas, Clark County, Nevada on the Moapa River Indian Reservation. [1] The facility is being developed by 8minutenergy Renewables and when completed will be the largest photovoltaic system on tribal lands in North America . [ 2 ]
The Mountain View Solar Energy Project is a 20 MW solar photovoltaic power plant located in the Mountain View Industrial Park near North Las Vegas in Clark County, Nevada. [1] All power generated by the nearly 84,000 modules is sold to NV Energy via a power purchase agreement . [ 2 ]
