Beacon Rock State Park is a geologic preserve and public recreation area on Route 14 in the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area in Skamania County, Washington, United States. The park takes its name from Beacon Rock, an 848-foot (258 m) basalt volcanic plug on the north shore of the Columbia River 32 miles (51 km) east of Vancouver.
Ausable Chasm is the namesake of the Ausable River, which runs through the gorge and empties into Lake Champlain about one mile (1.6 km) away. The gorge started forming about 10,000 years ago through headward erosion caused by Rainbow Falls, a 91 feet (28 m) waterfall at the gorge's southern extreme. [3]

The lodge is also the point of contact for cabin stays inside the state park. Reservations for the Lodge and Cabins are made through the contracted management company, Great Ohio Lodges. [11] There are also many privately owned cabins and hotels in the area. [12] In 2017, over 2 million people visited Hocking Hills. [13]
