The Farmington Public Library was finished in June 1972. It opened to serve, particularly, the northern part of the community. With three floors, the Library was 38,000 square feet (3,500 m 2). The library included reference areas, fiction and non-fiction areas, a lounge, Quiet Room and Children’s Room which consumed the top floors.

The Farmington Library Association was inoperative in 1880 but it was the forerunner of the current Farmington Public Library Association founded in 1890 with George C.
