RWTH Aachen University (German: [ˌɛʁveːteːˌhaː ˈʔaːxn̩]), in German Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule Aachen, [a] is a German public research university located in Aachen, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering is one of the nine faculties at the RWTH Aachen University and is widely recognized as one of the foremosts of such a faculty in Europe and the world. [1] [2] It was established in 1880 and has produced several notable individuals including Wendelin Wiedeking, Hugo Junkers, and Jesco von Puttkamer.
