  2. RAW: Does Plant Growth require Plants? : r/dndnext - Reddit

    www.reddit.com/r/dndnext/comments/nllwy2/raw_does_plant_growth_require_plants

By RAW you don't need plants. The part of the spell that augments plants is unrelated to the part of the spell that slows movement. Most DMs will probably just declare the spell doesn't work if there are no plants nearby. But if you want to be really technical, the spell doesn't require plants to slow movement. Reply.

Plant Growth is one of the strongest spells in the game, actually, for several reasons. First, it's third level for the effects you get. While third level spells are powerful indeed, containing stuff like fireball which is a mainstay for several levels, or Fly and Haste-the two best spells on the wizard list, in my opinion-it's also a level ...

The exact text of the 8-hour version of Plant Growth is: If you cast this spell over 8 hours, you enrich the land. All plants in a half-mile radius centered on a point within range become enriched for 1 year. The plants yield twice the normal amount of food when harvested.

    5. The spell says: choose a point within range. All normal plants in a 100-foot radius centered on that point become thick and overgrown. A creature moving through the area must spend 4 feet of movement for every 1 foot it moves. It sounds like your question is: "the spell doesn't say that the plants are required in order to impede movement, so ...

  6. dnd 5e 2014 - How long does the spell Plant Growth last? -...

    rpg.stackexchange.com/questions/105157/how-long-does-the-spell-plant-growth-last

The spell harms, heals, creates, or alters a creature or an object in a way that can’t be dispelled, because its magic exists only for an instant. Plant Growth is altering all of those plants to make them grow big and dense in an instant...and then the spell is over, and the plants are still huge. Another example of a spell such as this is ...

  7. Plant Growth Uses? : r/dndnext - Reddit

ventus. • 8 yr. ago. It would really be up to DM discretion. By RAW, there are two things that plant growth can do: create difficult terrain and double harvest yields. Some of the minor effects you mention seem fine, like growing flowers or feeding the party, but I'd be hesitant to allow some of the more in-depth ones.

  8. Spike Growth + Plant Growth. : r/dndnext - Reddit

    www.reddit.com/r/dndnext/comments/7oqwok/spike_growth_plant_growth

Spike growth means that anyone moving through the area takes damage for every 5 feet they move. Plant growth means that they have to spend 4x the normal movement cost to move. If a character with 30 feet of movement is really committed to just walking through it, then they would be able to move a total of 20 feet by dashing, which would deal ...

  9. Plant Growth + Create Bonfire : r/DnD - Reddit

    www.reddit.com/r/DnD/comments/kufjy0/plant_growth_create_bonfire

Plant Growth + Create Bonfire. 5th Edition. Plant Growth is a third level spell I am considering taking. It effectively reduces speed to 5 feet in effected areas (for most humanoids). The AoE is very large and I can exclude any area I want from the spell. But I also have the create bonfire cantrip. Could I use that to ignite my plant growth on ...

Let's say that they are in the exact center of the plant growth area and are 50' away from leaving the effect. Under normal conditions, they can traverse the 50' while utilizing Dash in one round. But in this case, this creature under slow now has a move of 15. And the plant growth makes every 1 foot of movement act like 4 feet.

  11. dnd 5e 2014 - How does Land's Stride interact with Plant Growth?...

    rpg.stackexchange.com/.../80570/how-does-lands-stride-interact-with-plant-growth

Since Plant Growth uses magic to cause mundane nonmagical plants and vegetation to overgrow and effect your movement, Land's Stride allows you to move through these plants without being affected. Lastly, since 'Plant Growth' does not offer you a saving throw for you to have Advantage against, the last part of Land's Stride also does not apply ...
