Under Sink Plumbing WTF Recently bought a house that has this setup under the kitchen sink. Garbage disposal flows into other side of the sink, which seems obvious when looking at the tee connecting the two sides.

Can’t seem to get this lined up perfectly after new sink installed. Guy at HD says to use flex hose and everything online seems to recommend avoiding that stuff for the kitchen sink. All the under sink stuff seems standardized. Hoping to avoid having to cut the black 45 off the pipe coming from the wall. Anyone have any thoughts or ideas on this?

I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt and assume there was actually a leak, and the "pipe" that was loose is probably just the drain assembly or p-trap under the sink, which was probably already loose from who knows what prior attempt to clean/fix the thing, but whatever it was it probably wasn't a big deal and couldn't be too hard to fix.

  5. Why are my kitchen sink pipes leaking? : r/Plumbing - Reddit

The pipes under the kitchen sink keep leaking everywhere, particularly when the plug is pulled on a sink full of dirty water. It bubbles up out of the top of the ‘T’ pipe you see in the middle. When just running the tap, it appears to be fine. I’ve used three doses drain unblocker and it still happens.

My guess is those are zinc chloride crystals. You have brass waste pipes, specifically yellow brass which is high in zinc. If you keep chlorine based cleaners slightly open under your sink like ajax or other cleaners then they can react with the zinc in the brass pipe and create zinc chloride crystals on the exterior of the pipe.

  7. Identifying under-sink replacement parts : r/Plumbing - Reddit

    www.reddit.com/r/Plumbing/comments/1dk5ym4/identifying_undersink_replacement_parts

I'm trying to replace some of my under-sink plumbing because of a leak. I broke a washer at some point, which I can't seem to find in the shops (see this image). You can see some dark gunk coming out of the piece above part 1 in the image attached to the post. That's where the leak is. I think I need to replace:

  9. Under sink piping : r/Plumbing - Reddit

    www.reddit.com/r/Plumbing/comments/1drgobe/under_sink_piping

The configuration of this bathroom sink has been like this for about four years. It’s already had a leak once that had to get fixed. Late last night, I discovered the floor of this cabinet had standing water, primarily below the piping here. The foam liner I had placed had dark mold on the bottom.

This is all assuming the drain isn't backpitched. If that's the case, the drain under the sink needs to be rerun. Never ever use that plumber again. He should have known the black 90 was cut too short, and at the minimum used a tailpiece extension. Or noticed that the drain was backpitched and rerun it. Edit.
