Tornado Archive is a dedicated to worldwide tornado history, climatology, “archeology” and media. We are a group of meteorologists, storm chasers, and weather enthusiasts who intend to preserve data, educate, and provide a hop off point for your weather related research and much much more.
A primary starting source for tornado related media. Climatological and meteorological context for all tornado events (Where possible) A historical record that spans centuries, not decades. A historical record that is worldwide, not just US-Centric.
Beneath the tornado paths, you can enable a dewpoint, temperature, 850 or 500mb wind, or a CAPE+Hodograph map. These maps can then be animated for up to 72 hours (meaning you could watch the entire 2011 super-outbreak at once!).
This page provides descriptions of domain, quality, and availability for each dataset on Tornado Archive (you will see the names of these in the “Source” field when a tornado is selected on the explorer).

By Ava Aidala on May 20, 2023. Here comes version 2.2! This update comes with a few additions, most notably that we now have the 2022 data for the United States up on the site. 2022’s data is as high quality as the last couple years, meaning damage paths and high resolution tracks.
