In 2005, U.P. Rural Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, a state government run medical college affiliated with Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University, Kanpur was established in Saifai village, District Etawah, Uttar Pradesh. It was established by UPRIMS&R, Saifai, Act 2005 notified on 15 December 2005.
It started as Pharmacy College Saifai, with the first batch of B Pharm getting enrolled in academic year of 2015–16, for which it was affiliated with Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University. From academic year 2016–17, it became a constituent college of the newly established Uttar Pradesh University of Medical Sciences .

[ 5 ] [ 1 ] In 2016 he was awarded Yash Bharti Award , the highest civilian award of the state ( Uttar Pradesh ).
