"Boys Don't Cry" is a song by English rock band The Cure. It was released in the UK as a stand-alone single in June 1979, and was included as the title track on Boys Don't Cry , the American equivalent to Three Imaginary Boys .
It was recorded at the same time as their first album Three Imaginary Boys (1979), but not included on the album. However, it was included on the band's first US album, Boys Don't Cry (1980). [2] The song's title and lyrics reference Albert Camus's novel The Stranger.
