Truman State University (TSU or Truman) is a public liberal arts university in Kirksville, Missouri, United States. It had 3,636 enrolled students in the fall of 2023 [8] pursuing degrees in 55 undergraduate and twelve graduate programs. [5] The university is named for U.S. President Harry Truman, who was a Missouri native.

The Truman Bulldogs are the sports teams of Truman State University, located in Kirksville, Missouri, United States.They participate in the NCAA's Division II and in the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC), joining the conference in 2013 after having been a member of the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) since that league's creation in 1912.
The Truman State University Index is a weekly student newspaper distributed at Truman State University and throughout the Kirksville, Missouri community. The publication is entirely student-run and funded mostly through its own advertising revenue. It has published continuously since 1909, and its current circulation is about 4,500.

In 2023, the Sixteenth Century Society took over ownership of the journal, which is to be published from 2024 by the University of Chicago Press. [1] SCJ was founded in 1969, and has been at Truman State University since 1971. It was initially a biannual journal and moved to quarterly publication in 1976. [2]
