Alexander Morton Campbell (1907–1968) [1] was an Indiana lawyer who served in the United States Department of Justice as Assistant U.S. Attorney General for the Criminal Division, formally from August 1948 through December 20, 1949, under Tom C. Clark as U.S. Attorney General (1945–49).
He received a Bachelor of Laws from Indiana University Maurer School of Law in 1950. He was in private practice in Angola, Indiana in 1950, and then in Columbia City, Indiana until 1976, interrupted by his service as the United States Attorney for the Northern District of Indiana, from 1953 to 1959. Joseph Edward Corcoran (April 18, 1975 – December 18, 2024) was an American convicted mass murderer who was executed for a quadruple murder case in Indiana. Corcoran was found guilty of the 1997 murders of his brother, his sister's fiancé, and two of their friends at his house in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and he was sentenced to death in 1999.
