None of that did the trick, the only way i have found for it to work is when my headset is disconnected, otherwise when my headset is connected, the headset can change the volume and the keyboard can't but i want my headset connected and to be able to use the keyboard to change the volume.
My keyboard has dedicated mute/decrease/increase speaker volumes. They used to work on my main speaker. Now when I press them the UI element appears that makes it seem that volume is adjusting: but in fact, volume does not adjust on my main speaker.

In that case, try reinstalling sound drivers. 1. Open device manager and expand "Sound Video and Game Controller". 2. Uninstall all the devices listed under that and choose "Uninstall". 3. Restart the system and check. If the issue persists then try updating sound drivers manually and try different versions available for it.

Let me try and clear up a few things. first off I have a new Logitech g910 keyboard, a HT omega Striker 7.1 sound card and running win 10 x64. All drivers are up to date for all components. I am able to control the sound for any app if I go to that app and move the sound meter on the app.
