Chantilly is a census-designated place (CDP) in western Fairfax County, Virginia, United States. [ 4 ] [ 5 ] The population was 24,301 as of the 2020 census. [ 1 ] Chantilly is named after an early-19th-century mansion and farm, which in turn took the name of an 18th-century plantation that was located in Westmoreland County, Virginia . [ 6 ]
The name “Lightridge” was chosen to recognize the history of agriculture and dairy farming in the area. [3] The school is located off Lightridge Farm Road and near the site of Lightridge Farm, a now-closed dairy farm which operated for more than 60 years and was the last working dairy farm in Loudoun County east of Route 15.
