Engine. 5.7 Hemi. I’m new to synthetic oil. Went with Mobil 1 full synthetic extended life oil and an extended life filter. Filter packaging says 20,000 miles, oil says 15,000. I have no intention of going that long but what is the recommendation for oil change intervals with this set up? Thank in advance.
Mobil 1 Extended Performance synthetic oil is recommended for oil change intervals up to 15,000 miles or one year, whichever occurs first. That's roughly FIVE TIMES longer than conventional oil change wisdom recommends. That's massive. Imagine the savings from both the actual oil and the change procedure costs.
5.7. If your oil hasn't been changed in 22k miles, I'd get on it right quick like! 10k is a good rule of thumb with a good synthetic. Ram maxes oil at 15k. I change mine by the odo, so when I hit the 10, 20, 30k etc., mark. Makes it easy to track the other maintenance items, too.
Engine. 3.0 EcoDiesel. If your using a full synthetic oil, its a waste to change the oil sooner than 7500 miles or 1 year. Given it's a Cummins going 10K (or more) mile OCI is about on par, there's 3 gallons in that sump. If your changing because it's black, that's just because it's a diesel and no indication of the oil condition.
I think that is too short and they may want more business. 3. The manual has service intervals of 10000 for various services. So this truck should only go in at 10000 mile marks. 4. If there is a special oil, should I switch at next oil change. Thanks for your help in advance. Jun 14, 2014.
I drive approximately 3000 miles every six months, but my engine, idle hours, including both idle and driving time, are approximately 220 to 230 total engine hours in that same time frame of six months. I was planning on changing my oil at eight months and around 4000 miles. I use a quality full synthetic oil in my 2023, ram 5.7 hemi.
5.7 hemi. I'm at 6000 and I think that's 38% on the oil life meter. I am changing mine Thursday. The dealer oil change sticker said 5000 but the manual says something along the lines of 8-10k. Since I am changing the oil to full synthetic, I will extend the change intervals out to 8k or whatever the meter says.
This note is from a pdf manual for the '21 Ram 1500 Classic. Under no circumstances should oil change intervals exceed 10,000 miles (16,000 km), 12 months or 350 hours of engine run time, whichever comes first. The 350 hours of engine run or idle time is generally only a concern for fleet customers.
Ram Year. 2007. Engine. 4.7 Flexifuel. I did a oil replacement yesterday. It was 3000 miles since the last time. I will continue to change my oil at this interval. As someone stated, I could definately smell the ethanol in the oil compared to the smell when running gasoline. Thanks guys.
I run Mobil 1 Synthetic 5W20 oil with the Mobil 1 Extended Performance M1-204 oil filter. I change oil & filter every 5,000 miles, as I am hard on the engine. I have always believed motor oil is the life blood of an engine. The cleaned the internals, the longer the life of the engine.
