   I called the DNR at the Plainwell District office (Kzoo) (269)685-6851 and asked this very question. They told me I could target shoot on State land as long as I wasn't hunting or shooting at animals. I also don't think you can target practice during Deer season. Call them for a direct answer.

    Joe: That is not accurate. The 450' safety zone applies ONLY to hunting, not target shooting. Local municipalities might have different ordinances but state law does not address target shooting.
