The Washington Huskies baseball team is the varsity intercollegiate baseball team of the University of Washington, located in Seattle, Washington, United States.The program has been a member of the NCAA Division I Big Ten Conference since the start of the 2025 season, preceded by the Pac-12 Conference and the Pacific Coast Conference.
Husky Ballpark is a college baseball park in the Northwestern United States, located on the campus of the University of Washington in Seattle. Opened 27 years ago in 1998, it is the home field of the Washington Huskies of the Pac-12 conference. The playing field was renamed for donor Herb Chaffey in May 2009. [2] [3]
UW teams were first introduced as the Huskies on February 3, 1922, during the halftime intermission of a basketball game vs. Washington State. [54] The newly christened Huskies beat the Cougars, who adopted their nickname in 1919, by a score of 40–10.
The Huskies finished the 2022 season with a record of 30–26 overall, 14–16 in Pac-12 conference play to finish in a tie for sixth. Due to a tiebreaker with California, they earn a seventh seed in the Pac-12 baseball tournament where they lost in the first round in the double elimination by 2nd seed Oregon State and in the elimination round they lost to 3rd seed UCLA.
