U.S. Route 377 (US 377) is a 478-mile-long (769 km) north–south United States highway. Originally formed as a short spur to connect Denton, Texas with Fort Worth, Texas , it has since been extended to Oklahoma and Mexico .

It begins at US 77 in Denton and travels northeast towards Loop 288. Past Loop 288, the highway curves to the east as it exits the city limits of Denton. After crossing a spur of the Ray Roberts Lake State Park, it enters the town of Aubrey, crosses US 377, and passes through western reaches of Celina.

It is unsigned and a portion of US 377. Loop 118 was designated on February 4, 1941, from US 377 south of Roanoke to SH 114 north of Roanoke. On September 26, 1996, a 0.625-mile (1.006 km) section from US 377 to Denton Street was returned to the city of Roanoke and Loop 118 was rerouted over Spur 118 to US 377.
FM 1709 was designated on May 23, 1951 between US 377 and SH 114. An additional section was added on November 25, 1986 to extend the highway westward to I-35W. [2] The stretch of FM 1709 from US 377 in Keller to SH 114 in Southlake was redesignated as UR 1709 on June 27, 1995, but was redesignated back to FM 1709 on November 15, 2018. [1]

In 2000, the city of Denton turned US 77 into a pair of one-ways streets from US 377 to FM 2164, with northbound traffic using Locust Street and southbound traffic using Elm Street. In 2003, the section of US 77 in Robstown between FM 892 and 9th Street was removed the state highway system as construction of a bypass around the town began.
