Dmitri Ivanovich Mendeleev (/ ˌ m ɛ n d əl ˈ eɪ ə f / MEN-dəl-AY-əf; [2] [b] [a] 8 February [O.S. 27 January] 1834 – 2 February [O.S. 20 January] 1907) was a Russian chemist known for formulating the periodic law and creating a version of the periodic table of elements.
In his report on The Periodic Law of the Chemical Elements in 1869, the Russian chemist Dmitri Mendeleev predicted the existence of several unknown chemical elements, including one that would fill a gap in the carbon family, located between silicon and tin. [12]
