But Rose, who obviously dies after reaching 100, appears as a young woman in the final sequence. If it was the afterlife, Leo DiCaprio would be kissing Gloria Stuart. I think James Cameron just put that last sequence in as a "What if....." situation (Jack and Rose marrying on the Titanic had it not sunk) to give the film a happier ending.
